Marco Veronese

New Era

"New Era" is the name of the second exhibition of the Italian artist Marco Veronese at the Ana Serratosa Gallery. The intention of the exhibition is to capture the inexorable passage of time, reminding us that we are human, that the passage of time is inevitable. Symbolic of this temporality are two of the elements present in most of the works that make up the exhibition: the butterfly and the skull. Using butterflies, Marco Veronese refers in this exhibition to the process of transformation, like the small silkworm that turns into a beautiful butterfly. To this is added the presence of carpets, the result of his recent residence in Turkey, where the manufacture of carpets has a millenary tradition. Veronese mixes both cultures in his work and uses the carpet as a support for his creations. These are woollen rugs, like the Turkish ones, in which his characteristic skulls appear alongside geometric motifs and patterns.

NEW ERA

NEW ERA

JAVIER MOLINS

"New Era" gave name to the second exhibition of the Italian artist Marco Veronese in the Ana Serratosa Gallery.

The intention of the show was to capture the inexorable passage of time by reminding us that we are human, that time passes. Symbol of this temporality are two of the elements present in most of the works that made it up: the butterfly and the skull.

Using the butterflies, Marco Veronese made reference in this exhibition to the process of transformation, like that little silkworm that happens to become a beautiful butterfly. To this was added the presence of carpets, fruit of his recent residence in Turkey where the manufacture of the same has a thousand-year-old tradition.

Veronese mixes both cultures in his work and uses the carpet as another support for his creations. It is about wool carpets, like the Turkish ones, in which their characteristic skulls appeared next to motifs and geometric patterns.
