Bob Verschueren

"A First Vegetal Flow"

Pedro Medina

The Belgian author Bob Verschueren, whose artistic career is defined by taking nature as the main reference in his works, brought us in "A First Vegetal Flow" an exhibition in which he moves the natural world to an interior space; where the pieces flooded floors and walls, colonizing the environment and giving rise to a completely transformed landscape. Recognized especially for its outdoor installations, what Verchueren proposed in this exhibition was the complete decontextualization of the plant elements; thus allowing the visitor to have a new experience based on the perception of the natural object in a scenario that was totally foreign to him, and in which he acquired an unknown role and meaning. Among the pieces that made it up, we found works of very varied formats and compositions, among which were included small installations that allowed the viewer to enjoy a whole experience not only visual, but broadly sensory. This experience was an "apéritif" of the laborious project on a large scale that the artist carried out a few months later: "Echoes of memory 2016".
