Enrique Asensi

Piedra, dice

In this exhibition, Asensi proposes a sensorial and spiritual journey: his pieces, charged with mystery and balance, speak to us of the search for proportion, clarity and harmony. Matter comes to life in his hands, and each sculpture is an invitation to stop, to explore space and to connect with the very essence of artistic creation. His sculptures, born of creative solitude and deep contemplation, invite us to look slowly, to discover the invisible and to allow ourselves to be fascinated by the silent beauty that emerges in each of his works. Enrique Asensi, whose career has flourished in Germany and has been recognised throughout Europe, is a poet of matter, a creator who transforms stone and metal into forms that dialogue with space, light and time.

Reviews

Piedra, dice

by Alfonso de la Torre

Now, as a I reread a letter from Enrique Asensi (Valencia, 1950) written a few months ago, I am struck by his use of “soliloquy” to describe his approach to artmaking. The letter also spoke of “unclouded and happy days of solitude”, et in Arcadia his sculptural world, a life in entropy that the artist revealed, underscoring his attempt “to express the unsayable in words.”
