Carmen Jabaloyes

"Miradas Manufacturadas"

“Miradas Manufacturadas” is the title of the first sculpture exhibition by the international artist Carmen Jabaloyes in the Ana Serratosa Gallery. The exhibition, divided into two parts, has in the first room a space where we look at artist's gaze and the perception of her surroundings, always conditioned by the inheritances and memories that are created with personal experiences. In the next room we see a review of the first part, and how an outside look can make the same concept be reconstructed to create works with a speech of its own. The materials are the main protagonists of the exhibition: iron, luthier woods converted into pieces of the collection, leather, crochet ... all have a very personal connotation for the artist, who uses them to describe her personal experiences and share with the viewer an intimate view of her gaze.

Miradas manufacturadas

Miradas Manufacturadas

Emilio Raimondi

Venice does not exist unless you look at it with your eyes, beyond your mind.

Each work, which wants to be called a piece of art, exposes itself to this dramatic court: who does not see that work as a piece of art, who does not recognize it, sees it as an object among others. Carmen does not represent 'Venice'. Venice no longer exists other than in the eyes of the beholder. Carmen stages the ‘eyes’, and Venice.
