James Isherwood

Future Memory

With this exhibition James Isherwood (1971, Fall River, MA; USA) presents his work for the first time in our country by the hand of our gallery. The present selection of pieces that make up this exhibition presents the landscape and architecture in a surrealistic way, works in which color traps the viewer and transports him to his own personal universe of dreams and emotions. In most of them the moon is revealed as a predominant element, adopting different shapes, colors and meanings. A star that incites us to seek an understanding and that roots us both to the ground and to the sky.

The Moons of James Isherwood

by Anne Ray

This selection of works by James Isherwood gathers a series of works in acrylic on paper and wood where architecture and landscapes are presented to the viewer with a rich palette of technicolor colors, recreating realities that invite to daydreaming.

In the artist's paintings a strong symbolism can be appreciated, where elements such as celestial stars, water or the sky are recurrently presented, paying special attention to the moon and its different versions. At the same time, the wide range of textures used does not go unnoticed, demonstrating the artist's technical skill, as well as his attention to detail.
