"En defensa de la diversidad"

Fernando Castro Flórez

In this exhibition, a group of artists (Cristina Iglesias, Miquel Navarro, Jorge Pardo, Jose Mª Sicilia, Julião Sarmento, Juan Uslé and Kara Walker) opt for the singular, for the art matter without entering fashions and thus show his expressive tone. Defending therefore the diversity, this selection of artists can not be considered representative within the same trend and it is undoubtedly referring to intensity and quality within their specific proposals, and make a mature review of the formal approaches of modernism to try to offer new metaphorical operations.

EN DEFENSA DE LA DIVERSIDAD

FERNANDO CASTRO FLÓREZ

A series of artists from different generations and contexts, are given to very diverse approaches that, although they are not in identical aesthetic domains, the works of these creators can communicate perfectly with each other.

In all the artists who come together in this exhibition there is a feature of elegance and even a sobriety that, despite encountering the Baroque, flee from the unnecessary. We discover praise for the shadow, which gives rise to poetry. The multiplicity and diversity of these works is a feast for the senses and a defense of the intelligent aesthetic experience.
