"El mar de la China"

Fernando Castro Florez

"Mar de la China" is an exhibition by Alfonso Albacete which adapts to the pictorial framework the vision of nature from a zenithal point of view. In the words of Fernando Castro, curator of this exhibition, "the pictorial landscape of Albacete is permanently tense between figuration and abstraction, in the `plen air’ and the dissolution of the figurative motif in a sort of Baroque abstraction as practiced in the nineties". In addition to this renewed vision of ‘plen air’, Alfonso Albacete shows interest in pure colours, being, in most cases, a dialogue between two complementary ones. This gives the collection "Mar de la China" as one of the most visual and impressive shows of the Ana Serratosa Gallery.
