Javier Riera

"Caminar, descansar, preservar"

Alfonso de la Torre

"Walking, resting, preserving" was the exhibition by Javier Riera that, held in 2016, introduced a new element of artistic element in the artist's career: cyanotype. This term refers to an old printing system; a peculiar procedure that was closely linked to the beginnings of photography and that gives the images a characteristic bluish tone. This sample alluded to the experience with the native fauna, to animal presences that were peeped, perceived in intense and fleeting appearances that formed a flow of superimposed images among themselves. Here, snapshots intermingled with real tactile elements, such as leaves or branches, giving rise to an exhibition that celebrated nature.
